SUMMARY:Concrete Sustainability: Materials & Structures
DESCRIPTION:The International Conference “Concrete Sustainability: Materials and Structures” is being organized by the University of Malta and the International Federation for Structural Concrete fib\, with the collaboration of Philip A Tabone. The conference shall be held from November 20th to 22nd\, 2023 at the Valletta Campus of the University of Malta and shall address the latest developments and innovation in concrete and reinforced concrete structures. During the event\, the University of Malta will host the fib Commission 7 Sustainable Concrete\, Task Group 7.8 meeting. The Task Group addresses “Recycled Materials and Industrial By-Products to produce High-Performance Concrete Structures” and is led by Professor Ruben Paul Borg of the Construction Materials Research Group at the University of Malta. The conference shall cover key areas in cement-based materials and structural engineering\, in particular the latest innovation and advancement in research and industrial applications towards sustainability. \nAs concrete stands as the most extensively utilized construction material worldwide\, exploited widely in structures and infrastructures\, the ecological impact of cement and concrete production is substantial\, characterized by increasing carbon emissions and escalated consumption of raw materials. Consequently\, innovations aimed at enhancing the sustainability of concrete assume paramount importance in furthering Climate Action within the construction industry. \nThe pursuit of concrete sustainability has precipitated notable innovations in progressive materials and intelligent technologies that advocate for materials and structures that are more ecologically friendly\, financially viable\, and operationally effective. Encompassing a diverse spectrum of cement-based and composite materials\, concrete innovation remains central to the focus of this conference. The primary objective of the event involves the assessment of the latest breakthroughs in the field\, including pioneering materials and their pragmatic applications within the industrial domain\, including self-healing concrete\, ultra-high-performance concrete\, biomaterials\, additive manufacturing and production technologies. \nLeading international experts who actively contribute to research and industry within the realm of concrete materials and structures shall deliver key presentations on the latest innovation in cement-based composites and reinforced concrete structures. \nThe conference “Concrete Sustainability: Materials and Structures” is the second international conference in the series following the first event in 2018\, organized by the Construction Materials Research Group at the University of Malta and fib\, in collaboration with Philip A Tabone. \n  \nRegister here\n  \nProgramme\n\n\n	Related
