DESCRIPTION:The Permanent Committee on Engineering of the Kamra tal-Periti and SFPE Malta are hosting a seminar on fire safety in construction. As our main speaker\, we have invited Professor António Moura Correia\, Professor and Researcher at the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra\, Portugal. \n  \nThe talk will cover the following topics: \n\nDesigning Reinforced Concrete\, Steel and Composite Steel-Concrete Structures in Fire\nSimulation of Structures in a fire situation by the finite element method\nSimulation of the spread of fires in buildings\nBuilding Evacuation Simulation\nStudy of the risk of fires in Historical Centres\n\n  \n  \nBio Note of Professor António Moura Correia \nProfessor and Researcher at the University of Coimbra (1993-2003) and the Polytechnic University of Coimbra (2003-2023). \nPresident of the Scientific Committee of the Civil Engineering Division\, at the Superior Institute of Engineering of Coimbra. \nCoordinator of a Civil Protection Course. \nMember of the research team on several research projects on Fire Safety Engineering. \nSupervisor of several Msc and Phd Thesis on Fire Resistance of Structures\, Numerical Modelling of Fire Propagation and Smoke Spread\, Building Evacuation and Wildland-Urban Interface. \nAdvisor and member of juries for Msc and Phd Thesis\, on Fire Safety Engineering. \nMember of the organizing committee and scientific committee of National Conferences and International Congresses on Fire Safety. \nAuthor and co-author of more than 50 scientific papers on Scientific Journals and International Conferences. \n  \n  \n\n\n	Related
