SUMMARY:New and Renovated Buildings Energy Efficiency and their Compliance with Technical Document F | Part 1: The Building Envelope
DESCRIPTION:You are cordially invited to this evening organised by MEEREA. \n  \nThe year 2020 is on the horizon when all new and renovated buildings will have to achieve nearly-zero energy status. \nHow can one design buildings with this in mind\, while taking into consideration the binding requirements of Technical Document F? \nWhat options are available to achieve this without compromising internal space and comfort? \nThis seminar will answer frequently asked questions vis-a-vis the application of thermal insulation to buildings to improve their energy performance and enhance their indoor climate. Different types of insulation and their characteristics will be discussed together with their costs and subsequent application. Some reference will also be given to other building elements such as glazing and the extent to which one should consider their complexity within the mild climatic conditions of Malta. Case studies will also be presented. \nSpeakers: Ing. Damien Gatt and Perit Greta Caruana Smith \nThe event will be followed by a pizza/pasta night. \nFee is free of charge for paid-up members.
