Sustainable Communities ADC // Briefing Sessions
The Kamra tal-Periti has been entrusted for the second year running to organise three architectural design competitions on behalf of the Housing Authority and the Ministry for Social Accommodation. A Briefing Session will be held on the 16th December 2020, from 15.00hrs to 17.00hrs at the Valletta Campus and via Zoom. During this session we will be launching the regulations of the Competition, as well as presenting the Project Briefs. The Briefing Session forms an integral part of the architectural briefs.…

The three competitions sites forming part of the Sustainable Communities ADCs will be open for all interested architects on Friday 18th December between 9am and 12pm. Representatives of the Contracting Authority and the NGOs will be present on site. Any questions put the the NGOs during the site visits will be minuted and published on the competition websites. The address and map location for each site is indicated in the respective competition pages.

Designing for Fire Safety

The impact of the Santa Lucija judgement on architecture, planning, and property values
The landmark judgement annulling a permit on a site in Santa Luċija has sent ripples through the profession and beyond. While this brings welcome reprieve to our battered built environment, it also creates uncertainty within the profession which needs to be addressed. The position of periti working as court experts for the Civil Courts, RRB and RLCB has been deteriorating in recent months.
