Architecture Alive presents Alison Brooks
The first event of Architecture Alive for the season of 2019/2020 is Architect Alison Brooks. Architect Brooks is the only British architect to have won all three of the UK’s most prestigious awards for architecture: the RIBA Stirling Prize, Manser Medal and Stephen Lawrence Prize. Annual General Meeting 2020
The foundations of the Kamra were laid amid the Sette Giugno uprisings of 1919 when, despite the turmoil brought about by the riots and the end of the Spanish flu pandemic, the new Governor, Field Marshall Herbert Charles Onslow Plumer brought into force the Architects’ Ordinance on the 25th July 1919. Less than a year later, on the 12th June 1920, he enacted Government Notice 202, which established the Chamber of Architects, now known as the Kamra tal-Periti. The Kamra tal-Periti has been entrusted for the second year running to organise three architectural design competitions on behalf of the Housing Authority and the Ministry for Social Accommodation. A Briefing Session will be held on the 16th December 2020, from 15.00hrs to 17.00hrs at the Valletta Campus and via Zoom.
